Star of the Week

Each week one of the students will be the “star”.  This program is designed to promote a positive self-image and to encourage oral language and expression.  When it is your child’s turn they will bring home an “All About Me” poster.  Please help you child complete this and return it the following Monday so that it can be displayed in our classroom for the entire week.

As the special “Star of the Week” your child will be the teacher’s special helper and get to assist with various activities.  The star also has the option of bringing something to share each day of the week.  I would like for one of the items to be their favorite book.

Attendance and Tardy Procedures
When your child is absent please call the office and let them know.  Also, a written note is required upon return.

If you arrive after the door has been closed (shortly after 7:55) you must take your child and check in at the office.  There your child will be given a slip and then he/she may join the rest of the class.  It is important that your child arrives to school on time.  Every minute counts!

Kindergarten Pick-up and drop-off
We use the morning drop-off procedure/rainy day afternoon pick up. When it is raining, please enter through the Mason parking lot and continue down the alley and stop at the Kindergarten gate.  Children will wait in the classroom until called by teachers.  Exit the west gate on Lassen St.  No hand pick-up on rainy days.

Snack and Lunch
The school provides pre-purchased lunches Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.

Please send a healthy snack with your child Monday through Friday.

Glow Buddies
Each of our kindergarteners is paired up with a buddy from 8th grade.  The student will get together throughout the school year for special activities.  The little ones love the attention they receive from their special big buddies.  Through joint activities a caring bond is developed and self-esteem is raised.
